The guy’s done some brilliant work with Apophysis which I just don’t have the skill or patience to match, but, it did incite me to steal a free flame (that’d be the mathematical formula that make the pretty pictures) from some other top notch artist.

That quest lead me to =Phraktalous‘s dA journal [link] who is currently giving away a flame for folk to faff with as a challenge.

Not being satisfied with the generous license allowed in that challenge - I stepped through a series of variations from Phraktalous' original and came up with two that I could live with - then threw them into Photoshop to filtered chopped and blended them into a further two images.

I want to reach out a large audience with these, hopefully they are restful enough for people to want to employ them as desktop backdrops. You are - of course - free to do just that with my blessing.

Adrift [link] - Surface, catch a calming breath and lie back to gaze at great expanse above.

Hybrids - using re-imagined elements of the above.
Incandescent Ascension [link] - Into to the firmament, letting off steam.
Heavenly Ascension [link] - Beyond heat and rising above mere mundane elements.
