The Writing's on the Wall

Description

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN as enumerated in the bible book of Daniel chapter five verse 25.

There are many ways those ancient Hebrew characters can be translated. The best minds in the realm of Babylon could not give a definitive answer for that very reason.
Scholars still enjoy pointing out that MENE and TEKEL were coins - types of local currency. But I'm sure the Prophet took that into account when he interpreted the mysteriously manifested writing as
"You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting." The very night the seemingly unassailable leading world power of the time was broken.

Being brought up as a christian in our <sarcasm> warm and cosy </sarcasm> family was never a joke, and nothing illustrates the dread and feeling of impending doom instilled in me to this day better than the writing on the wall. If you know the story you know what I mean.

I've been feeling the cold dread of doom a great deal lately, and it is something my twisted little soul wants to share with the rest of you 'good' folks. I've been weighing and measuring my coins a hell-of-a-lot recently, and I can tell ya, they have been found wanting.

It's a work in progress folks, it can only get darker. I don't think I'm brave enough to wear this on a t-shirt.

It's not all religion's fault, some of my persistent smoldering anger can be attributed to a stiff and proud Eastern European culture. Let's just say that I'm hypersensitive to hypocrisy and my enemies live in fear because I've nothing left to rebel against.
